Hooda flags off educational tour

JAMMU, Apr 30: General Officer Commanding (GOC), 16 Corps, Lieutenant General DS Hooda today flagged off an educational-cum-motivational tour for the under privileged differently abled children from Nagrota, here today.
The unique and special tour has been organised by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion based at Banihal. The tour consisted of 14 differently abled children from remote villages of Banihal and surrounding areas, two teachers and five parents and guardians of the children.
The aim of the tour is to showcase the development of the country to the differently abled children from the remote and far flung rural areas.
During the tour, the participants will visit important places of interest at Delhi, Agra and Fatehpur Sikri. The participants will interact with the people of different regions and also eminent personalities, thereby widening their horizon.
The participants will also have an opportunity to interact with President of India, Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.
The tour for the differently abled children is a bold and innovative step by the Army to encourage the children to take on life with a new challenge and vigour.
During the flagging off ceremony at Nagrota, Lieutenant General DS Hooda interacted with the children, teachers and parents and expressed the hope that the tour would leave a memorable imprint on their minds.
