Home guards seek Governor’s intervention for permanent appointment, other facilities

JAMMU, Feb 13: All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association demanded permanent appointment and other facilities like other States.
Addressing a press conference, president of the association, Kamla Sharma said that the home guards are struggling for their demands including permanent appointment and other facilities for the past over 10 years.
“We were only served with false promises of permanent adjustment orders, but till date nothing has been done”, she added.
Sharma added that home guards are getting meager salary and due to rise in the prices of the essential commodities, they are suffering a lot.
She appealed to the Governor NN Vohra to intervene in the matter so that their demands will come to legitimate end.
Sharma also informed that general secretary of All India Home Guard Association Joginder Singh and general secretary of Home Guard Association, UP, Amrish Kumar Pathak have extended help to the J&K Home Guard Welfare Association.
Among others present were Gopal Dass, Tirath Singh, Ghulam Hassan, Mushtaq Ahmed, Bilal Ahmed, Pawan Kumari, Krishan Lal, Babli Devi, Aarti Devi, Tarsem Lal, Anil Kumar, etc.
