JAMMU, July 18: All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association has demanded regularization of services of Home Guard jawans in the State of Jammu and Kashmir as per decision of the Supreme Court.
Talking to media persons here today, association president Kamla Sharma dwelt in detail about the adverse conditions in which the Home Guards are made to perform but are paid a meager sum of Rs 60 per day as compared to Rs 1200 to Rs 1500 per day being paid to serving police men which is great injustice with them.
She said further that association has already submitted the genuine demands to the Union Home Minister, Raj Nath Singh as also the other Ministers of the State but nothing has been done ameliorate their sufferings. She said the file containing their demands was lying with the Union Home Ministry since long, whose fate was not known till date.
Association president appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti who also holds the Home portfolio to direct the concerned authorities to get the Supreme Court’s decision implemented so that Home Guard personnel may heave a sigh of relief.
