As per an order issued in this regard, sanction has been given to the appointment of Muzaffar Ahmad Rather (JKAS), Chief Accounts Officer, Government Medical College, Anantnag as Inquiry Officer to enquire into the illegal appointment made by the then Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag in respect of Muzamil Mushtaq as Nursing Orderly (son of Mohammad Mushtaq Bhat, the then Senior Assistant, Kulgam) and subsequent construction of his Service Book by the then Chief Medical Officer, Kulgam “without following due procedure of law.”
The Chief Medical Officer, Kulgam/Anantnag has been directed to provide all the necessary inputs/documents/case files of the official to the Inquiry Officer to complete the enquiry in a time-bound manner.
The Inquiry Officer has been asked to submit its report within one month from the date of issuance of the formal order along with specific recommendations for taking a further course of action against the erring officers/officials who had made such illegal appointment.
“Also suggest the course of action against the applicant who has been engaged illegally by the then Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag in terms of the relevant rules governing the subject matter,” the order said.
Meanwhile, the Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department today appointed an Inquiry Officer to inquire into the allegations levelled by a doctor against the Principal, Government Dental College (GDC), Srinagar.
“Sanction is, hereby, accorded to the appointment of Hashmat Ali Yatoo, Administrator, Associated Hospitals, Government Medical College, Srinagar as Inquiry Officer to conduct an enquiry into allegations levelled by Dr. Mohammad Altaf Tantray against Dr. Reyaz Farooq, Principal, Government Dental College, Srinagar,” the order issued read.
The H&ME has directed the Inquiry Officer to submit the report within a period of 15 days.
Notably, the Excelsior learned that the allegations which have been levelled by the said doctor against the Principal, GDC, Srinagar, largely revolve around alleged favouritism in the College and the accusations of not letting the competent people stick around, which were allegedly “ruining” the institution.
While Dr Tantray refused to comment over the allegations he has levelled and the ordering of the inquiry by H&ME, Dr Reyaz Farooq also did not respond to the request to present his version of the matter.
