SRINAGAR, Nov 10: The Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department has given approval for the commencement of the General Nursing & New Midwifery (GNM) program at the Pioneer Nursing and Para Medical College in the Hanjiwera area of North Kashmir’s Pattan.
To enhance nursing education, the H&ME has sanctioned a course with 30 seats, provided the college meets certain conditions outlined in the Provisional No Objection Certificate.
The college must ensure, as per the directives, compliance with the regulations stipulated in the J&K Paramedical Council Act of 2014 and is prohibited from charging any capitation fee from its students.
It stated that the authorization to launch the course is contingent upon any future government policies that may be sanctioned for the regulation of such institutes.
“Admission eligibility for these courses will be based on merit, following criteria set by the Government through the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination,” as stated by the H&ME.
