JAMMU, Oct 30: A Hizbul Mujahideen militant killed in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district yesterday has turned out to be the killer of truck driver Narayan Dutt of village Kakrayal in Katra tehsil of Reasi district. This has also established involvement of Hizbul Mujahideen in the killing of truck drivers and the same outfit is also suspected to be behind the killing of five labourers in Kulgam last night.
The militant, who was killed by security forces at Bijbehara last night, has been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Ahad Malik, a resident of Dardsun Kralpora in district Kupwara.
He was killed yesterday in an encounter with security forces in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district and his body was recovered last night. However, his identity was established today.
Sources said Aijaz was involved in the killing of truck driver Narayan Dutt, a resident of village Kakrayal in Katra tehsil of Reasi district.
Narayan Dutt’s four children were rendered orphan by the Hizbul Mujahideen militants.
Dutt was shot dead by the militants at Bijbehara on Monday.
“This establishes complicity of Hizbul Mujahideen in the terror crime including the killing of innocent truck drivers,” sources said, adding that Hizbul Mujahideen is also suspected behind five West Bengal labourers’ killing in Kulgam last night.
Aijaz Malik was active since 2018, sources said.
