Hindustan Pencils Workers Union suspends dharna

JAMMU, May 13: Following a meeting of Hindustan Pencils Workers Union – affiliated to Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, with the higher management of Hindustan Pencil Pvt Ltd, the workers union suspended its almost one month long dharna as trust building measure.
Nachik Bhai, Director of the Company and Managing Director Sharmila Sahai came from Mumbai to attend the meeting fixed by the Labour Department. Dy Labour Commissioner Sukhpal Singh and Rupali Jasrotia were also present in the meeting as conciliation officers and workers delegation was led by Harbans Choudhary, senior leader of BMS.
Meeting was held in very cordial manner and lasted for more than one hour. The management sought 10-12 days time for considering the demands raised by the workers union.
Others who also attended the meeting, included Mohinder Lal, Yashpaul, Sharda Devi, Nitu Rani, Reena Sharma, Arun Katoch, Yash Pal, Prem Nath and Ragubir Singh.
