SRINAGAR: Many areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall today, while the plains in the Valley were lashed by rains, even as the Meteorological Department has forecast continuous wet spell till the weekend.

Few areas in the upper reaches of the Valley, including Gurez, Razdan Pass, Sadhna Top, Affarwat, and Amarnath Cave received fresh light snowfall today, an official of the MeT Office said.

He said the plains of the Valley, including the summer capital here, received intermittent rains since the morning.

The official said light to moderate rain or thundershower would occur at many places over the state, while there is possibility of light snowfall in the higher reaches over the next 24 hours.

He also said there is possibility of scattered to widespread rains or thundershowers over the state till April 8. (AGENCIES)
