High reaches of HP experience light snowfall, Shimla at minus -2 deg C

SHIMLA, Feb 1: High reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced light snowfall in last 24 hrs, further plummeting the mercury to freezing point as it was -2 degree Celsius in state capital Shimla.
The Kalpa in Kinnuar recorded 11 cm of snowfall and Bhavnagar one cm. Manali, Palampur and Bhawanagar received one mm of rainfall while the rest of state was partly cloudy. Minimum temperature of Keylong was -15 deg C, Kalpa -8.4 deg C, Manali 3 deg C, Shimla – 2 deg C, Dharmshala 2.8 deg C, Bhuntar in Kullu 3 deg C and Solan 3.5 deg C. Sundernagar was at 3.9 deg C, Palampur 4 deg C, Mandi 5 deg C, Una 5.2 deg C, Hamirpur 7 deg C, Kangar 7.2 deg C, Nahan in Sirmaur 7.3 deg C and Bilaspur 7.5 deg C. The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in next 24 hrs in the state. (UNI)
