SAMBA, Feb 18: A terrorist hideout was busted in Chilla Danga forest area here today, with police recovering ammunition and explosive substance, thus averting a major tragedy.
While performing patrolling, a police party of Border Police Post (BPP) Chilla Danga received information through reliable sources regarding a hideout of terrorists in the Kawala forest area, SSP Samba Varinder Manhas said.
Accordingly, he said, a thorough search operation launched in the area led to the recovery of 29 live rounds, one AK rifle magazine and explosive powder concealed under the cavity of a tree and rock.

“It seems that the anti-national elements have dumped this material acquired illegally through some medium to carry out terrorist acts and to cause damage to life and property, but the recovery has foiled the designs of the anti-national elements and averted a major sabotage,” he said.
The police official further claimed that a case FIR number 54/2025 under sections 13/16/23 UA(P) Act, 7/25 Indian Arms Act, and 4/25 Explosive Substances Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Samba and further investigation started
