JAMMU, Sept 21: A delegation of prominent members of Hindu Education Society Kashmir (HESK) led by Anil Dhar, its president called on the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and discussed various issues of the society including the resolution of the issues of Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar.
The members of the delegation expressed concern over the slow progress made on various issues. However, apprising the CM of various progressive steps taken by the Society for various plans of expansion and development, including start of some new courses at its Jammu campus, the delegation appreciated the policy of public private partnership in Higher Education propounded by the CM.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah while appreciating the efforts of the Society in propagating education assured the delegation all possible help from the Government in meeting their various requirements. The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities for speedy action on various pending issues of HESK. The Chief Minister also assured the society of his fullest support in meeting various requirements of academic expansion.
The other members of the delegation comprised of AK Raina, general secretary HESK, M K Bangroo, Prof BL Zutshi Education Advisor HESK, Prof Sunil Tikoo and Prof Satish Talashi.
