JAMMU, Apr 6: Police today recovered 970 grams heroin and 250 grams charas at Pacca Danga and Jhajjar Kotli areas respectively and arrested two narcotics smugglers.
Officiating SSP Jammu Rajeshwar Singh said Pacca Danga police arrested a narcotics smuggler Zaffar Iqbal, son of Abdul Sattar Dar, a resident of Rajdhani, Thanna Mandi from New Plot this morning and recovered 970 grams heroin from his possession,
Police have booked the accused under NDPS Act. The accused was being interrogated to ascertain sources of heroin.
Police parties headed by SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Vijay Choudhary made the arrest.
Jhajjar Kotli police also arrested a narcotics smuggler Baab Din, son of Faqir Mohammad resident of Domail, Katra and recovered 250 grams charas from him.
Jhajjar Kotli police station team headed by SHO Inspector Pervez Sajjad made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Khaliq Choudhary.
