NEW DELHI: Hero Cycles today launched 17 bikes under its new brand Hero Sprint Pro, priced between Rs 7,000 and Rs 15,000.
BSH Ventures’ manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka, which was acquired by the company, will be the manufacturing base for Hero Sprint Pro line of products.
“Hero Sprint Pro is another move by Hero Cycles to widen its presence in the premium and semi premium fitness category of bikes,” Hero Cycles CMD Pankaj Munjal said in a statement.
The brand makes an appeal to the youth, fitness enthusiasts and outdoor sport aficionados who take up cycling as a leisure and adventure activity, he added.
“We have started this brand with 17 products, but we will soon strengthen it with more additions,” Munjal said.
Hero Cycles recently acquired a majority stake in BSH Ventures, one of Sri Lanka’s leading bicycle manufacturers, with an aim to develop it as a manufacturing base for its European exports.
The company is investing in ramping up the plant capacity in the island nation to half a million units a year with plans laid out to fuel the domestic as well as rapidly growing global demand.
In recent years, Hero Cycles has initiated several moves to diversify and broaden its product range. (AGENCIES)
