JAIPUR:Taking suo moto cognisance of the complaint filed by victims of the accident involving actor“politician Hema Malini’s car, State Human Rights commission said had the victims got timely medical assistance, the life of the two-year-old girl child who died in the accident could have been saved. Member of the Human Rights commission M K Devarajan has sought a report from Dausa district SP and CMHO in this regard. The report had to be filed within a week.
The two-year-old girl was killed and her six-year-old brother is in the Intensive Care Unit at a Jaipur hospital with fractures in both arms and legs. They were travelling in the Alto with their parents with a relative when the accident occurred near Dausa. All of them were seriously injured in the accident. Witnesses at the site of the accident in Dausa in Rajasthan said that Ms Malini, who was injured on the forehead, was driven away to Jaipur soon after the car crash in a private vehicle by a local BJP leader. Her assistant who was travelling with her and the driver also left with her but the other victims were left in the lurch and did not receive timely medical care. The driver was arrested later in the night and has been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. He has been granted bail. (AGENCIES)
