NEW DELHI, May 10: In view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, the Char Dham Yatra helicopter service has been suspended with immediate effect in Uttarakhand, officials said on Saturday.
After the orders from Delhi, the helicopter service of Char Dham Yatra will remain shut till further orders. The move will have a significant impact on the pilgrims going to Kedarnath.
On May 8, 2025, six people, including five women and the 60-year-old pilot, died, and one person sustained grievous injuries after a private helicopter, heading towards Gangotri temple, crashed near River Bhagirathi in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district.
