Heidi Klum honoured for charity work

LOS ANGELES, May 20:  Supermodel Heidi Klum has been honoured with the Crystal Cross Award from the American Red Cross for her charity efforts.
The 40-year-old model received the Crystal Cross Award for her contributions and volunteer efforts after Superstorm Sandy, reported People magazine.
“I try to give back. After Sandy, we got a gigantic truck and we loaded it with blankets, diapers, kids’ clothes and toys because it was right around the holiday season and we went to Long Island (New York),” Klum said.
“I think everyone can do something, even if it is in your own community. You can visit children in the hospital or bring gifts to them, cook a meal for someone who is ill and can’t. We are all global citizens and whatever we can do, if it is small or something bigger, it’s important,” she added.
Klum has worked with the American Red Cross for the past decade. (PTI)
