Heavy firing in Pallanwalla sector

JAMMU, Oct 2: In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistan fired on forward LoC posts and villages in Pallanwalla sector this evening.
“Pakistani Army at 7.15 pm today fired heavily at forward Indian posts thus, violating the ceasefire,” reports said. They said first the small arms were fired in Dhar Channi, Samwan and Chapriyal areas but later, the enemy resorted to firing with automatic weapons.
“Own troops retaliated effectively with similar calibre weapons,” reports said, adding that no injury or casualty was reported on own side. “The firing started at around 0730 hrs and was going on intermittently when the reports last came in.
The border dwellers of Pallanwalla have already shifted to safer places.
Meanwhile, Army and police today arrested two persons along Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in Poonch and RS Pura sectors respectively and handed them over to police for questioning.
Reports said joint teams of Army and police apprehended a 41 year old man Mohammad Rashid Khan son of Mohammad Yaqub Khan, a resident of Tedabund, Haveli in Bagh district of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) soon after he crossed over into the Indian side of LoC in Sabjian sector of Poonch district.
After preliminary questioning, Army handed over the youth to police for questioning and investigations. Nothing incriminating was recovered from his possession.
In another case, Army and police arrested a Bangladeshi national Suhag alias Abu Bakar son of Amin Hamzi R/o Astila, Pakistan. He was stated to be insane.
He was roaming in RS Pura for the past two days and was taken into custody. Police parties headed by SHO  RS Pura Inspector Bushan Manhas were was questioning him.
