Health sector is our priority: Omar

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah along with MPs and Legislators inaugurating District Hospital Baramulla on Sunday.

BARAMULLA, Sept 29: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today inaugurated District Hospital Baramulla.
He was accompanied by the Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan, MPs Saif-ud-Din Soz, Sharief-ud-Din Shariq and Legislators Javid Ahmad Dar and Ghulam Nabi Moonga.
The OPD and IPD blocks of the hospital with 200-bed capacity were made functional besides various other facilities. All specialties including Surgery, Trauma, Medicine, Gynae-obstetrics, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, New-born Care Unit, Dermatology, Radiology, Gastroenterology, Dental, Blood Bank, Diagnostic Services, X-ray, E.C.G, U.S.G, Endoscopy, Special SMCU, Drug De-Addiction Centre, Mental Health, Immunization, Integrated Counseling and other services will be available to the people in the District Hospital.
The Chief Minister said that health sector has been flagged as one of the most important sectors in the State’s development policy and various health care projects are under implementation in the State. He said during the last more than four and a half years tremendous expansion and consolidation has been achieved besides providing specialists and paramedics in the hospitals and health centres.
Omar Abdullah said that the District Hospital Baramulla is yet another milestone in the endeavour of the State Government to universalize modern health facilities across the State.
