BATOTE, Oct 14: In the presence of MLA Ramban, 2-day Health and Family Welfare Campaign (H&FW), organized by Directorate of Field Publicity, a media unit of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, concluded today at Government Higher Secondary School Batote.
During the programme, a series of IEC activities were carried out to acquaint masses about various aspects and provisions under H&FW programme. A Galaxy of experts from Health and Family Welfare Department delivered key note addresses on various issues and aspects of RMNCH+A (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child health & Adolescent ) with special emphasis on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mission Indradhanush, Population Stabilisation, Anaemia among adolescent girls to create awareness about these schemes among the masses. A Health camp was also organized in which services like Blood estimation, De-worming tablets, Iron folic tablets were provide to masses along with first hand information about anaemia, its causes and remedial measures.
While interacting with the participants, MLA Ramban, Neelam Kumar Lanegh, stressed that such programmes should also be organized in interior areas where there is a dire need for such health related information. He also announced to extend his all possible support in taking such programmes to remote areas of the district.
Earlier, while highlighting the mandate of Directorate of Field Publicity, Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, urged the audience to fully participate in the awareness programme and health check up being organized at the venue.
An awareness rally of school students from various schools of Batote was also organized and was flagged off by Naib Tehsildar Saifullah Shah. Block Medical Officer Shakeel Ahmed also interacted with audience and highlighted various components of these schemes being implemented in Batote block.
As part of ongoing public awareness Campaign on RMNCH+A, launched by Directorate of Field Publicity, awareness programmes are being organized in 6 high priority districts of the State, which include Doda, Leh , Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri and Poonch.
