JAMMU, Oct 14: A delegation of ABVP activists, led by State joint secretary Abhinav Pandotra called on Vice-Chancellor of Jammu University, Prof R D Sharma and submitted him a memorandum of demands:
The delegation, comprising of Jammu City secretary Deepak Gupta, Piyush Khajuria, Shiv Kumar, Shubam Amar and Naresh Sharma apprised the VC about their demands, which included; issuance of Smart Card to all regular students of JU to have access to Central Library, single window system for examination related issues, Wi-Fi facility for regular PG and UG students of JU, refund of Re-evaluation fee in case of enhancement of marks after re-evaluation, provision for women security on the campus, early completion of new boys and girls hostel, emergency/enquiry number for centralized information, open elections for Jammu University Student Union, regular placement drives for professional courses, access to all research related journals and data based links which are relevant to research scholars of respective disciples, increase the number of Scholarships (M Phil/PhD) upto 10 per department and installation of CCTV cameras at all the vulnerable places of the campus.
The ABVP delegation told the Vice-Chancellor that the memorandum of demands was prepared after a detailed survey done by ABVP activists on the campus.
The Vice Chancellor assured that all the demands would be considered for a positive decision on the same.
