JAMMU, Jan 13: In a petition filed by Vaishno Dutt and others claiming to be managing the affairs of Bawa Jitto shrine at Jhiri, Vacation Judge of the High Court Justice B L Bhat has restrained the State functionaries from interfering in the premises of the shrine.
The petitioners also alleged violation of the interim direction passed by the High Court on December 12, 2013 where by operation of Government Order No 413-TSM of 2013 dated October 4, 2013 sanctioning constitution of a Board for management, administration and governing the affairs of Shri Bawa Jitto Mal, was stayed.
The petitioners submitted that the respondents were conducting meetings within the premises of the shrine, putting-up signs boards, raising boundary wall and using land to the determent of legal right of the petitioners.
After hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma appearing for the petitioners, Justice B L Bhat issued notice to the respondents returnable within four weeks. In the meanwhile, the respondents and functionaries of the State were restrained from interfering into the possession of petitioners over the premises of the shrine. The High Court also directed the Divisional Commissioner to get the order implemented and report compliance.
