JAMMU, Nov 2: High Court Bar Association (HCBA) organized an interactive session on “Women Empowerment” at District Courts Complex, here today.
On the occasion, Member Legislative Council (MLC) Rani Gargi Biloria was the chief guest.
While speaking, various members of the Association and Rani Gargi Biloria emphasized on the role of women in empowering the society and the contribution towards development of the nation at large. One of the key speakers said, women empowerment will be happen only when there is freedom of mind and the women are free-willed to choose and exercise their rights.
Biloria speaking about the Women Reservation Bill emphasised that since the advocates are the mouth piece of the society, thus they hold a strong hold in implementation of the bill and thus they should come forward and encourage the bill.
MLC announced a grant of Rs 11 lakh towards the development of Bar Association Jammu and benefit of lawyers.
The key speakers were Asha Koul, Sindhu Sharma, vice president HCBA, MK Bhardwaj, president, DS Manhas, president YLA, Benish Kazmi, general secretary YLA, senior advocate BS Manhas, Zahid Malik, Anwar Chowdhary and Meenakshi Salathia.
The programme was conducted by Ranjit S Jamwal, general secretary HCBA.
The vote of thanks was presented by Shazia Azad, cashier YLA.
