HC seeks appearance of officials

Srinagar, Oct 29: The High Court has issued bailable warrants against various officials for securing their presence before the court on next date of hearing for non-compliance of court orders.
The court issued bailable warrants to the tune of Rs 5000 against Chief Education Officer Baramulla which the court directed to be executed through SSP Baramulla.
In another case, the court, while granting two weeks’ last opportunity to the SSB to report compliance in conformity with the judgment passed in 2017 sought personal appearance of Chairman SSB. “…failing which the Chairman Services Selection Board shall remain present before this Court along with record on the next date of hearing”, Court directed.
Court directed the Registry to convey this Order to the Chairman SSB and also Government counsel for compliance. Court in other contempt proceedings directed the personal appearance of the Labour Commissioner in case he fails to file the compliance report.
“…Today neither the statement of facts/compliance has been filed nor the Labour Commissioner, Srinagar/ Jammu, has chosen not to appear before this Court. The application seeking exemption from personal appearance of the officer has also not been filed. In view of the aforesaid position, this Court is left with no other option but to secure the presence of the Labour Commissioner, Srinagar/Jammu, through issuance of bailable warrants to the tune of Rs. 50,000 to be executed through the Superintendent of Police concerned”, Court ordered.
