Srinagar, May 13: High Court today revoked the certificate of enrolment of Advocate Sajad Ahmad Shah after it was found that he had obtained a fake and forged LLB degree.
A notification issued today said the decision was taken pursuant to a resolution passed by the Admission and Enrollment Committee on 29th of April this year.
Advocate Sajad Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah of Aquilmir, Khanyar in Srinagar, was initially enrolled as an advocate under License No. JK-225/09 dated July 17, 2009.
His name had appeared on the official Roll of the Bar Council of Jammu and Kashmir through Notification No. 345 dated September 9, 2010.
However, following an inquiry into the authenticity of his degree, it was found that the LL.B qualification he submitted was not genuine, read the order, issued by MK Sharma, Registrar General (Officiating).
“In view of the findings, the certificate of enrolment issued in favour of Sajad Ahmad Shah is hereby revoked, and his name is removed from the Roll of Bar Council of Jammu and Kashmir,” the notification stated.
Further proceedings or possible criminal implications regarding the forged degree are yet to be made public.
