SRINAGAR, Dec 7: High Court has restrained the Government from cancelling the appointments made in the J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) on the recommendations of a high level committee headed by Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department R K Goyal.
The order was passed in a petition filed by the candidates who came to be appointed as Assistant Executive Officers, Publicity Officers and Junior Statistical Assistants in the Board pursuant to the notice bearing No.KVIB/01 of 2016 dated October 8, 2016.
“The whole selection process, which culminated in our appointments, was transparent yet on some complaints the Government constituted a high-level committee headed by Principal Secretary Home Department R K Goyal”, the petitioners submitted, adding “the committee has reportedly submitted its report and the Government is reportedly mulling to cancel all the appointments, which would be against the principles of natural justice”.
After hearing counsel for the petitioners, Justice Sanjeev Kumar issued notice to the Government and in the meanwhile subject to objections and till next date of hearing restrained the Government from cancelling the appointments of the petitioners.
