Srinagar, May 23: High Court has quashed detention orders under Public Safety Act of 43 detainees.
Disposing of separate petitions filed by the detainees through their relatives, the Court quashed the detention orders of Sameer Ahmad Bhat of Marhama Bijbhera, Tajamul Islam of Gulshanpora Tral, Shahid Ahmad Bhat of Simthan Bijbhera, Tariq Ahmad Rather of Zainakote HMT, Abdul Rashid Shighan of Batamaloo Srinagar, Mohammad Subhan Dar of Koimoh Kulgam, Asadullah Sheikh of Davisar Kulgam, Mohammad Shafi Khan of Dooru Anantnag, Tanveer Ahmad War of Eidgah Baramulla, Imran Khan of Trehgam, Ubaid Tariq Untoo of Kralteng Sopondipora, Mohammad Maqbool Wani of Tapper Pattan, Dawood Shafqat Mir of Nowhera Srinagar, Bashir Ahmad Bhat alias Bashir Kashmiri Sathoo Payeen, Noor Mohammad Marazi of Narbal Srinagar, Attaullah Shah of Kralgund Kupwara, Bilal Ahmad Mir of Zangalpora Kulgam, Mohammad Ishtiyaq Dar of Bijbhera, Abdul Rashid Bhat of Achbal Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Dar Khandapora Kulgam, Mohammad Younis Peer of Pampore, Zulkarnain Peer of Sonawari, Mehraj-ud-din Naikoo of Seelu Sopore, Zahid Ahmad Negroo of Nowpora Kulgam, Mansoor Ahmad Lone of Lalhar Kakapora Pulwama, Gowhar Ahmad Bhat of Armulla Pulwama, Rouf Ahmad Magrey ofTraphoo Achabal, Abdul Qayoom Wani of Mirbazar Anantnag, Asif Ahmad Malla of Bohlachpora Soura, Humair Yaseen Roshanghar of Roshangari Mohalla Srinagar, Abdul Rehman Sheikh of Koimoh Kulgam, Abdul Gani Khandey of Shopian, Yawar Ahmad Sheikh and Bashir Ahmad Teeli, both residents of Kunzar Tangmarg. All the detainees were represented by advocates Mir Shafqat Hussain, Wajid Haseeb and Shah Ashiq Hussain.
Meanwhile, the Court quashed the detention orders under PSA against Mohammad Rafiq Ganai of Anantnag, Abdul Majeed Malla of Palhallan Pattan, Zahoor Ahmad Tanray of Pattan, Ghulam Mohammad Tantray of Behrampora Baramullah, Sajad Ahmad Sheikh of Hajin and Abdul Majeed Wani of Palhallan Pattan. These detainees were represented by advocate Nasir Qadiri, Mian Tufail and advocate B A Tak.
