HC permits PSC to hold exams

SRINAGAR, May 25: High Court today permitted the Public Service Commission to hold the exams for the post of Public Law Officers (PLOs), District Litigating Officers (DLOs), Assistant Draftsman and Assistant Legal Remembrancer.
The Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice M K Hanjura modified the writ court order whereby the notification issued in respect of these posts by Public Services Commission was stayed, to the extent that the Commission is at liberty to hold exams for the posts in question.
The Division Bench, however, put a rider on the Commission that the result of written examination shall not be declared without leave of the writ court.
“To the aforesaid extent, the ad interim order passed by the Single Judge is modified”, Court said and directed the writ petition be listed before the Single Bench for consideration on June 6.
DB said since the appellant-Commission has made all the arrangements for conduct of the examination and in case the examination is not allowed to be held, it would amount to inconvenience to the appellant-Commission as well as to the candidates who have to appear in the examinations, which the court said, would result in loss of public exchequer.
