JAMMU, Aug 14: High Court today ordered status quo on the land allotted to Asa Ram Trust and issued notice to Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary of Jammu Development Authority.
The order was passed in a petition filed by Mohan Lal, Managing Trustee of Shree Yog Vedhant Sewa Samiti (Sant Shri Bapu Asaram Ashram) Trust challenging the order issued by VC JDA whereby lease deed of land measuring 283 kanals situated at Bhagwatu Nagar was cancelled.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Veenu Gupta appearing petitioner, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal issued notice to Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department, VC JDA and Secretary JDA.
In the meantime, subject to objections and till next date before the Bench, High Court directed that status-quo vis-à-vis the land shall be maintained.
