SRINAGAR, Apr 1: In two separate orders, High Court today issued warrants against the Commissioner/Secretary Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, Parvaiz Ahmad Malik and the JKPCC Managing Director, T R Bhagat for disobeying its order.
Justice Janak Raj Kotwal directed the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, to execute the order passed by the court.
The direction came after the court was hearing a contempt petition for disobeying the order passed in 2012, in which the respondents were directed to appoint the petitioner, Ghulam Nabi Dar, as Physical Education Teacher in District Cadre Anantnag/Kulgam.
Complying with the court directions, the Service Selection Board recommended Dar for the post. However, the Youth Services officials disobeyed the court order.
The court had directed them to file compliance of the judgment, but they failed to submit.
In a separate case, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey issued bail-able warrant against the JKPCC Managing Director for failing to obey the orders and directed his presence by coercive method to answer the queries of the court.
The court pulled up the respondents for failing to comply with the order passed by the court on May, 10, 2013. The court said despite granting opportunities the respondents failed, constraining the Court to adopt coercive methods to secure presence of the MD.
The court directed the Inspector General of Police, Jammu, to execute the warrant in the tune of Rs 10,000.
The bench was hearing a contempt petition filed by a petitioner, seeking alteration of Date of Birth.
