JAMMU, Apr 28: Justice Alok Aradhe of the State High court had directed a newspaper and news portal not to publish any defamatory news/article in their papers and portal against a police officer, Inspector Bharat Sharma.
In his petition, Sharma said that he had kept surveillance and opened history sheets of the respondent as they were involved in some cases, which pertained to different nature.
The police officer has also mentioned nature of the cases including First Information Report (FIR) numbers and Sections under which the cases have been registered against the respondents. He said the same persons were now publishing defamatory articles against him.
“Having grudge over re-opening of their cases, the respondents started publishing false, baseless and defamatory news items against me,” the police officer said in his petition.
