Srinagar, Oct 10: Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir today directed the investigating agency to conclude the investigation and file the charge sheet within a period of one month in killing of two boys in 2010 unrest.
The court granted one month time to the investigating agency after the submission of investigating officer (SSP Anantnag) who was present before the court and submitted the charge sheet against the accused.
During the course of arguments counsel appearing for petitioners submitted that the completion of the investigation of the case is being hampered unnecessarily as one of the police officers is involved in the incident.
Advocate representing State while making his submission said the investigation of the case is likely to be completed. “All efforts are being put in for ensuring fair investigation and formulation of charge sheet and one month is required for the same as statement of few witnesses is yet to be recorded”, he said.
On the other hand petitioner counsel submitted that statement of most of the witnesses has been recorded and their statements are enough for filing charge sheet.
It is pertinent to mention here that two boys namely Bilal Ahmad Najar and Noor-ul-Amin Dagga were killed on September 19, 2010 when cops opened fire on the funeral procession of another youth Maroof Ahmad Nath whose body was recovered on the fateful day after he drowned in the Jhelum on September 13 while being chased by police and CRPF personnel.
