JAMMU, Apr 19: The Full Court in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal has formulated the policy to govern the posting of Senior District Judges and Senior Civil Judges as Principal District & Sessions Judges and Chief Judicial Magistrates.
According to the order issued by Registrar General Sanjeev Gupta, the District Judges cadre officers in the Super Time Scale and Selection Grade shall in the first instance be posted as Principal District & Sessions Judges and, if sufficient, number of officers are not available in-those grades, the officers in the Ordinary Grade of District Judges may be posted as Principal District & Sessions Judges.
An officer who has already served in any District as Principal District & Sessions Judge may be posted in the courts of special jurisdiction having independent character or tribunals. Judicial Officers in the District Judges cadre who are comparatively senior in position shall ordinarily be sent on deputation on the posts, requiring appointment of District Judge cadre officer.
Judicial Officers in the cadre of Civil Judge (Senior Division) who are higher up in the seniority shall be posted as Chief Judicial Magistrates in any district. Such Officers may however, be posted in the courts of special jurisdiction having an independent character, read the order.
