HC directs de-sealing of hotels

Srinagar, Dec 26: High Court today directed the de-sealing of a portion of hotels in Srinagar city that were sealed last month for violating the pollution norms.
A Division Bench of the High Court today directed the Pollution Control Board (PCB) to allow the sealed hotels to operate 19 rooms. The hotels owners were directed to give an undertaking before Registrar Judicial that they will not tamper with the seal.
The court while giving a relaxation to these hotel owners observed that they have been thrown out of business. It may be mentioned here that 108 hotels were sealed by the district administration last month under court direction for violating pollution norms.
