JAMMU, Apr 17: High Court today directed Chief Engineer R&B Jammu to appear in person to explain why his assets and property are not attached for contempt of the court.
The direction was passed in a contempt petition filed by a contractor Avikash Choudhary, who submitted that the directions of the court regarding release of his payment have not been implemented by the Chief Engineer.
After hearing Advocate SS Ahmed appearing for the petitioner whereas Deputy AG DS Jamwal appearing for the State, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat directed Chief Engineer PWD to appear in person and show cause as to why his assets and account head shall not be attached to recover the amount payable to the petitioner as per the judgment.
