Mysterious disappearance of 12 yr old child from Vijaypur

JAMMU, Oct 1: In a case relating to mysterious disappearance of 12 year old child namely Vishal, son of Rajesh Sharma from Vijaypur in Samba district, High Court has sought the personal appearance of CBI’s Investigating Officer (IO) along with case diaries of case on the next date of hearing for explaining his conduct with regard to the steps taken for tracing of the child.
When this petition filed by father of the missing child came up for hearing, Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed with Advocates Rahul Raina and Supriya Chauhan appearing for the petitioner submitted that it was on February 8, 2016 High Court transferred the Investigation of case FIR No. 6/2015 Police Station Vijaypur to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as the Samba Police had miserably failed to trace the missing child of the petitioner and thereafter, the CBI Special Branch Chandigarh registered a regular case on September 9, 2016 under Section 363 RPC and commenced the Investigation.
“In the last status report filed by CBI on October 28, 2016 it was divulged that the Investigating Officer has examined 12 witnesses including the petitioner and during investigation the record of orphanages in and around State will be obtained and checked to Investigate whether the missing child is or was there at any point of time”, Advocate Ahmed said.
More than two years have elapsed and the missing child is yet to be recovered by the CBI which has a specialized cell regarding child trafficking, he said, adding “the IO has lost interest in the case and is sitting idle as there is no headway in the investigation so far”.
After considering the submissions of Advocate S S Ahmed, Justice Sanjay Kumar Gupta expressed dissatisfaction over the status report filed by the CBI and directed the personal appearance of the Investigating Officer along the case diaries on the next date of hearing.
