JAMMU, Dec 13: Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir of State High Court has allowed the Investigating Officer to file challan against Mohd Bashir, the then Tehsildar Jammu before the court of competent jurisdiction. The Court, however, directed the Trial Court not to proceed with the trial till next date of hearing.
Mohammad Bashir, son of Mohammad Hussain, the then Tehsildar Jammu was booked by the Vigilance Organization in case FIR No. 15/2010 under Section 5(1) (e) read with Section 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, 2006. During investigation of the case, the searches were conducted in the residential houses and other buildings owned by the accused at Jammu and Srinagar in the presence of Executive Magistrates. The house search yielded various incriminating documents, which had direct bearing on the case.
