HBET provides scholarship to needy students

JAMMU, Dec 14: 500 rural children received scholarship amounting to over Rs 4.5 lakh from Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust, (HBET) during the seven days camp which concluded today wherein 90% of the students are girls and 85% are from rural areas.
The scholarship awarding scheme provided by Dr Chand Trehan approved CBSE counselor, Capacity building Officer, GFATM R7, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion.
The chief guest was briefed about the scholarship, mentorship and medical support programmes run by the Trust for all round support of the children. She praised the noble efforts of the Trust in not only helping the cause of education but also helping society at large to empower women.
The chief guest told the students about the benefits of education and advised them to make full use of scholarship and support of the trust.
HBET was established in 1997 with the mission to change lives of needy children through literacy support programs. The Trust supports children from weaker sections of society with renewed passion to remove ignorance and darkness from their lives by providing the light of education.
