NEW DELHI : Expressing confidence over the UPA coming to power at the Centre for a third consecutive term, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said having BJP leader Narendra Modi as Prime Minister would be disastrous for the country.
‘I am confident that the next Prime Minister will be from the UPA. It will be disastrous for the country to have Narendra Modi as PM,’ Dr Singh told a press conference here.
Elaborating, he said, ‘I do not believe that the kind of strength associated with Modi is good for the country. Strength is not someone presiding over massacre of innocent people on the streets of Ahmedabad.” (AGENCIES)
