JAMMU, Aug 31: J&K Innovative Foundation for Transforming Society (JKIFTS) today urged the UT Government to hasten the process of registration of medical graduates as well as post graduates and take steps in reformation of the new Medical Council (MC) constituent body owing to the expiry of term of its previous body.
In a statement issued here today, chairman JKIFTS Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo said that many medical graduates (MBBS) and MDs in the Union Territory are unable to get registered with the Council for last one year.
“A large number of medical graduates have uploaded their documents online along with the requisite fees and are waiting for last several months to get their registration certificates and are moving from pillar to post, however, nothing has happened yet in their favour”, he said.
Dr Itoo said that delay in the registration process has put the career of many MBBS graduates at stake as they are not able to apply for jobs as well as post-graduate exams.
