Weavers from remotest parts of the country have brought with them beautiful samples of silk workmanship.
Manju Nath, who brought the Kanjeevaram Saree said the Saree is made of gold zari and is woven in a year. After making a saree, its pattern is burnt so that it cannot be copied again.
These patterns are first made on paper and then on the computer. Accordingly, weaving is done on the welt. Dhirendra Singh from Assam joined the exhibition in which he has brought a Mekhla Saree with him. This is pure silk saree which is woven on Khaddi.
Ejaz, a weaver from Kashmir, has brought with him a Pashmina Shawl weighing 45 grams.
It is such a small cloth that it can be even kept in the pocket. This shawl gives warmth even in temperatures up to minus 20 degrees.
A handout stated that the Exhibition will continue till October 9, 2022.
