JAMMU, Nov 25: National Panthers Party (NPP) chairman and MLA Ramnagar Harshdev Singh, in whose constituency village Dudu falls where 20 persons were killed and 50 others injured in a major accident, has strongly condemned what he called “criminal negligence’’ of the administration towards the accidents victims, which led to increase in death toll.
In a statement issued here tonight, Mr Singh lamented “criminal attitude’’ of police and civil administration for utter delay in shifting the accident victims to hospital, which cause many deaths.
He said the CRPF shifted some victims to nearby hospitals.
The MLA Ramnagar said he spoke to the administration soon after getting report of the accident and was told that the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and ambulances have been rushed to the spot. However, he added, the situation was quite contrary as there was inordinate delay in providing medicare to the accident victims, a result of which many of them succumbed to their injuries.
Mr Singh demanded an inquiry into delay in help to the accident victims and Rs 20 lakh compensation to next to the kin of each death and Rs 10 lakh to each injured.
