UDHAMPUR, Apr 17: In a major achievement, Udhampur Police booked one of the hardcore narcotic smugglers and main supplier of narcotics , Iftkar Ali son of Muzaffar Din of Kotli Pain, Udhampur under Public Safety Act.
Giving details, SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey said that the accused narcotic smuggler was a habitual criminal and had been arrested a number of times in different cases of heinous nature including narcotics smuggling, attempt to murder, house breaking and theft besides other criminal cases. A dossier with regard to his criminal activities was prepared and submitted before District Magistrate, Udhampur Piyush Singla, who after careful consideration issued orders of his detention under Public Safety Act.
A team of PS Rehambal, led by SHO Ajay Bhat, under the supervision of Rohit Chadgal, DySP Hqrs Udhampur and Rajinder Kumar Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur, executed the warrant for detention under Public Safety Act.
