RAJOURI, May 19: Police here today detained a hardcore criminal under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
The detention order has been issued by District Magistrate Rajouri with approval by Home Department of J&K Government.
The detention was issued by the competent authority after a detailed report was submitted by police before the District Magistrate Rajouri.
The criminal who has been detained under PSA is Mohammad Azam Shah alias Mudassar Shah, son of Nisar Hussain, resident of Fatehpur, Darhali Morh, Rajouri.
He is a history sheeter and has been booked in 14 cases in the past and now he has been lodged in District Jail Dhangri.
SSP Rajouri, Amritpal Singh said that police in the district is tightening noose against notorious and hardcore criminals.
The order of detention has been executed by a Rajouri Police team headed by SHO Rajouri, Mohammad Showket Chowdhary under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarter Rajouri, Mudassir Hussain.
