SAMBA, May 31: A hardcore criminal was booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in Samba District and lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
Shabir Shah of Sher Bibi, Chamalvas, tehsil Banihal, district Ramban, at present Malani, tehsil Rajpura, district Samba was booked under PSA after a formal detention order against the accused was obtained from DC Samba, a police official said.
According to him, the accused was facing multiple FIRs registered at Police Stations Ghagwal and Samba for his involvement in bovine smuggling.
“Since the repeated criminal activities of the accused were posing a threat to the peace and order in the area, he was booked under PSA,” the police official said, adding, he was accordingly lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
