‘Har Ghar Dhyan’ workshop organized at GGM Science College

JAMMU, June 6: GGM Science College Jammu in collaboration with Art of Living organized ‘Har Ghar Dhyan’ workshop under the patronage of Principal Prof Rajesh Kumar Gupta and supervision of NSS unit II Program Officer Dr Deepali Mahajan and Psychological Cell Convener Dr Shakha Sharma.
The Union Ministry of Culture has collaborated with Art of Living to reach out to the masses and youth to educate them about mental health and empower them with the tool of meditation for better health. The project was launched on 26th October 2022 at the international headquarters of the Art of Living at Bangalore and done more than 10000 meditation sessions as on date across country.
The resource persons for the workshop were Ajay Kapoor (State coordinator, Art of Living Bureau of Communications and Projects J&K) and Akshita Sharma (a trainer with the Art of living, who teaches stress-elimination and self-development programs.
The workshop opened with the welcome address by Dr Deepali Mahajan, meditation ambassador of the College. Akshita Sharma very beautifully explained how the change in life style adopting meditation, pranayama and stress relieving kriyas help in boosting immunity and health, relieve stress, anxiety and depression, ability to manage our mind, increasing stamina. She involved all the participants in short meditation.
The students and faculty members felt very relaxed and positive after the meditation session. The NSS unit II volunteers actively participated in the yoga meditation interactive session.
Dr Anil Kumar Verma along with Dr Vandana Khajuria, Dr Poonam Kamotra and Prof Ajay Gupta presented planter to the Art of Living team. Prof Jyotdeep, Prof Asha Sharmhal, Prof Samita and Prof Preeti attended the workshop.
The Event was coordinated by Aaghav Arora, Jatin Sharma, Damandeep Singh, Sukhpreet Singh, Pallav Singh, Himanshu Khajuria, Divyansh Nadh, Sanchit Sharma, Pulkit Prashar, Hritik, Aakriti Sharma, Mandeep Kumar and Kunal Chandan.
