POONCH, Mar 20 : Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi, a Prominent Gujjar leader of Jammu and Kashmir has appealed the Governor of the State to approach the Government of India with the recommendation of including Gojri in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India.
This would ensure the development and spread of Gojri language. Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi further added that the Gojri language is being spoken by a very large number population of Gujjars and bakerwals of Jammu and Kashmir State the number of which goes over thirty four lakhs which in no way could be ignored and their only mother language is Gojri, therefore, keeping in view the demand of such a huge number of population of Gujjar and Bakerwals of the State the inclusion of Gojri language in the 8th Schedule of Constitution of India, is most genuine and justified, he added.
