Haqla for compensation to border firing victims

JAMMU, Oct 14: Prominent Gujjar leader and intellectual Shamsher Haqla Poonchi today urged the Government to take steps in restoring peace in trouble –torn Valley as continued violence has resulted into a heavy loss to the State.
In an appeal to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Haqla urged him that the steps of holding dialogue with people of the State be initiated  for restoration of everlasting peace in the Valley. Besides, he stressed both India and Pakistan to end the hostilities and work for the promotion of peace in Sub Continent. Haqla, while expressing serious concern over the loss of lives and property due to border shelling demanded compensation for the border people and launching of special recruitment drive for their recruitment in Army and para military forces in the State with special focus on the areas inhabited by Gujjars and Bakerwals.
He said peace is imperative for development and steps taken by the Government for development of the State will only yield fruit when peace prevails everywhere.
