NEW DELHI, July 30: Minister for Rural Development & Panchayats, Abdul Haq met the Union Minister for Rural Development Choudhary Bari-nder Singh here today.
Mr. Haq put forth detailed current situation before Union Minister and discussed at length the issues regarding various centrally sponsored scheme and funds which had not been released since January 2014.
For snow bound districts of the state, the Union Ministry has agreed to release all the funds in advance. The Ministry has also sanctioned special project under IAY for Rs. 44 crore for the houses damaged during the floods.
On Mr. Haq’s request, additional 104 V-sats for remote blocks of J&K were agreed to be released. Under Swacch Bharat Mission the state has been authorized to construct Community Sanitary complexes (CSC) as per requirement and funds under SBM stands released.
The Union Ministry is also going to organize two days work shop in J&K showcasing low cost technology particularly conducive to J&K state with special mobilization of major industrial houses so that state is able to garner funds under CSR. This workshop will be attended by Union Minister for Rural Development Choudary Barinder Singh.
Union MoRD has agreed to release funds under MGNREGA for land development, land protection and land reclamation. The Ministry also agreed to consider revising of NRDWP and RGPSA for the state which will enable the state to proved Data entry Operators in each Panchayat of state. It will be a major boost to the Panchayat and also major employment avenue.
