Winter

When the mornings turn foggy and cold,

When the Sun rises late and has lost all flair,

Then winter is already here,

When cotten bed sheets give way to quilts and heavy woollens,

When coolers and ACs go for hibernation,

When there is chilliness in the air,

Then Winter is already here,

When yearnings for piping hot soups rise,

When roasted peanuts and momos look so nice,

When parties happen here and there

Then winter is already here....

When office and school timings are late,

When long coats,mufflers and jackets look great,

When intense cold dries the lips and cheeks even after utmost care,

Then winter is already here.....

When you are snugged in your cosy bed,

And don't want to unnecessarily tread,

And when someone knocks at the door

and you don't want to see who is there...
