Hanuman Jayanti celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, Apr 25: Hanuman Jayanti was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety today.
In this connection main function was held at Prachin Hanuman Mandir, Moti Bazar here. A large number of devotees thronged the Mandir from early in the morning to participate in the celebrations and paid their obeisance to Bhagaawan Hanuman in the temple.
The celebrations have actually started on April 23 with holding of Ramayan Path which concluded yesterday. It was followed by solemnization of Maha Yagya in the temple premises today. Entire temple complex was fully decorated by the Mandir Prabhandak Committee befitting the occasion.
The hawan was followed by Pooja -Archaa by the devotees who were also served the prashad after puranahuti.
The Hawan was held under the supervision of head priest of the temple Bhuvnesh Sharma. The function was organized by the Prabandhak Committee of the temple.
According to Rajiv Gupta spokesman of the Mandhir Prabhandak Committee the five -day long function will culminate with a Bhajan Sandhiya at Brahman Sabha Parade on April 27 which will be followed by a bhandara also.
Another religious function was held at Hanuman temple Janipur Main Stop where the devotees rush continued for the whole day. After performing pooja -archana they were served the prashad.
The Hanuman Jayanti was also celebrated in other temples of Lord Hanuman throughout the Jammu region. All the temples were fully decorated on the day and special prayers were held by the devotees.
